Two northeast Ohio accounting firms have been recognized in an annual list of the top 100 fastest growing companies in that region complied by the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University.
Apple Growth Partners, an Ohio CPA Proud organization, and Aurum Wealth Management Group, LLC were judged based on their overall growth in the past five years and were recognized as the 96th and 38th fastest growing companies, respectively.
“It was definitely an honor to be named and to be recognized among the other 99 winners in northeastern Ohio,” said Brittany White, Apple Growth Partners director of marketing & practice growth. “Our goal is to continue to be on this list and continue to improve our rankings.”
Eric Wulff, CEPA, Aurum chief executive officer, said they, too were honored – but not surprised – by the recognition.
“We’ve never had a down quarter of revenue growth in the history of the company,” Wulff said. “Quarter over quarter, we've never had a down quarter of revenue for 13 years. So, when you have that kind of growth, you can expect to be one of the fastest growing companies in the region.”
He said if another firm or company wanted to make the Weatherhead 100 list, he would suggest building a solid team, having good partners and putting a consistent process in place.
“If you don't have a focus on people being specialists to grow the practice, you're not going to achieve your goals,” Wulff said. “So, you have to have a plan, process, people and partners that can help you get there.”
Both firms say they are not finished growing.
Wulff said he is looking forward to releasing more details about a partnership between Aurum and Marcum LLC and is excited about its growth opportunities.
Apple Growth chairman, Chuck Mullen, CPA, CMA, MTax, CGMA, said, “In the next decade, our firm’s sights are set on continuing our growth trajectory, with the goal of becoming a $100M revenue/Top 50 USA firm. I’m confident in our firm’s leadership and staff that we will exceed our goal.”
